In order to screen low-phosphorus tolerant germplasm for 52 local hulless barley varieties from Tibet, two treatments, phosphorus deficiency (0.5 μmol·L-1) and control (0.5 mmol·L-1), were set up to determine the biomass, root-shoot ratio, phosphorus use efficiency and acid phosphatase activity of barley materials under different phosphorus nutrition conditions. Principal component analysis, weighted average of membership function and cluster analysis were used to evaluate comprehensively the phosphorus use efficiency of hulless barley. The results showed that the comprehensive evaluation value (D) of 52 hulless barley materials ranged from 0.263 to 0.815, with an average value of 0.508. By cluster analysis, barley varieties were divided into four categories. Among them, 11 varieties (Changmangbaiqingke,Egazong, Zharen,Qiongjiehuangliuleng,Mandu,Baiqingke 2,Baiqingke 3,Duanmangqingke,Fengzhiqingke,Naimu and Baiqingke 6) were clustered into the first category, with the D value ranging from 0.263 to 0.372, the average value being 0.325, and low phosphorus use efficiency and weak low-phosphorus tolerance; 23 varieties were clustered into the second category, with the D value ranging from 0.406 to 0.556. The average value of P use efficiency was 0.525. There were 16 varieties in the third category, with the D value ranging from 0.586 to 0.719, the average value being 0.597, and the higher P use efficiency and low-phosphorus tolerance. There were two varieties in the fourth categories (Amandu and Lhasaqingke). The D value ranged from 0.781 to 0.815, with the average value being 0.798, and the P use efficiency and low-phosphorus tolerame were the highest. These materials can be used as breeding materials for hulless barley varieties with high phosphorus efficiency and low-phosphorus tolerance. |
