Rusts and powdery mildew of wheat are the most devastating diseases in wheat production. There are four pleiotropic disease resistance genes found in wheat so far, including Lr34/Yr18/Pm38/Sr57, Lr27/Yr30/Sr2, Lr46/Yr29/Pm39/Sr58 and Lr67/Yr46/Pm46/Sr55. However, these genes are not widely utilized in China. To clarify the utilization of the four pleiotropic disease resistance gene for wheat breeding, we detected the four genes with molecular markers in 367 wheat lines collected all over the world. Among the tested wheat lines, 174 lines carry one gene, including 23 lines carrying Lr34, 12 lines carrying Sr2, 138 lines carrying Lr46, and only the control line carrying Lr67; eight lines carry two genes, including Zhengmai 9023, Xinong 1376, Dekang 961, Pavon76, TX03A0148, lasen, MV LAURA and Mason/Jagger; only Aca 801 carries three genes. |
