To understand waterlogging tolerance of wheat varieties(lines) at booting stage in Hubei rice-wheat rotation system,thirty-seven wheat varieties(lines) mainly from the official regional experiments in Hubei province and the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River were identified and evaluated in 2013-2015 through simulating field waterlogging by irrigation. The comprehensive evaluation value(D value) transformed by a few related traits was used in waterlogging tolerance evaluation. Measured traits inhibited by waterlogging were number of green leaves per main shoot(NGLMS)>grain yield(GY)>SPAD>1 000-grain weight(TGW) >grain weight per spike(GWS)>stem stalk(SS)>plant height(PH)>grain number per spike(GNS) >spikelet number per spike(SNS)>spike length(SL). Based on D value,Emai 155,Emai 170,851,Jingmai 41,Ningmai 0898,Ningmai 09-72,Huamai 1168,Yangmai 20,Zhengmai 122,Yangmai 10G47 and Qingmai 1914 were more tolerant to waterlogging than Nonglin 46,which is an internationally recognized waterlogging tolerant wheat variety.Four categories divided by system clustering were high tolerance(8 materials,21.62%),tolerance(13 materials,35.14%),moderate tolerance(14 materals,37.84%),and low tolerance(2 materials,5.41%). D value had significant positive correlation with NGLMS at 0.05 level,and had significant positive correlation with WTC(waterlogging tolerance coefficient) of GWS,TGW,SPAD and NGLMS at 0.05 or 0.01 level. |
