To study the mitigation effect of 6-Benzylaminopurine(6-BA) seed soaking on seed germination and seedling growth of wheat under mercury chloride stress, three wheat cultivars were conducted in this experiment to study the effect of 6-BA seed soaking on seed germination, seedling growth, antioxidant enzyme activities, and the content of soluble protein and MDA.The results showed that treated wheat seed with 200 mg·L-1 HgCl2,the germination energy, germination rate, root length, bud length, and fresh weight of three varieties declined, and the antioxidant enzyme activities, the content of soluble protein of seedlings declined, but the MDA content increased.A certain concentration of 6-BA seed soaking could mitigate the inhibited effect of seed germination under mercury chloride stress, which promoted the germination of three wheat varieties, but the root length, bud length and fresh weight changed differently due to different varieties.Under HgCl2 stress, the SOD,POD activities and soluble protein content of three wheat variety seedlings increased first and then decreased with the increasing of the 6-BA concentration. The most proper 6-BA concentration differed with different wheat varieties. The MDA content of three wheat varieties declined first and then increased, reaching the minimum under the concentration of 6-BA at 15 mg·L-1.The results indicated that certain concentration of 6-BA seed soaking could mitigate the toxicity effect of HgCl2 stress on seed germination and seedling growth of wheat, but the most proper 6-BA concentration was different among wheat varieties. |
