The chemical structure of laxogenin C (LG C) is similar with 6 ketone brassinosteroids, both contain 6 carbonyl functional groups.LG C shows the bioactivity of plant hormone brassinosteroid. To explore LG C in the regulation of plant growth, the germination and growth of wheat seedlings of Xiaoyao 22 after seed soaking with different concentrations of laxogenin C solution were evaluated. The results showed that: proper supplementary laxogenin C enhanced seed germination, seedling growth, and increased the root vigor, leaf water content, chlorophyll content, osmotic adjustment substance content and antioxidant activity significantly, the optimum laxogenin C concentration was 0.005 mg·L-1 and high level of laxogenin C resulted adverse effects. Compared with the control, the germination percentage, germination index, germination potential of wheat were increased by 8.9%, 50.2% and 140.7%,and the seedling length, root length, euphylla length, fresh and dry weight of wheat seedlings were enhanced by 31.5%, 86.9%, 41.8%, 29.1% and 111.1% in the optimum concentration of 0.005 mg·L-1, respectively. The SOD activity, POD activity, CAT activity and chlorophyll content of wheat seedlings were enhanced by 29.3%, 120.5%, 49.7% and 36.9% under the optimum concentration of 0.005 mg·L-1, respectively. The soluble protein content, soluble sugar content, free proline content in wheat seedlings were 29.1%, 75.9% and 30.9% higher than that of the control in the optimum concentration of 0.005 mg·L-1 , respectively. |
