Using artificial inoculation of 24 Puccinia striiformis isolates which come from China, India and other countries, with different virulence spectra of pathogenicity at seedling stage, the resistance to stripe rust was identified in 26 spring wheat cultivars (lines) from Gansu province, China, in combined with pedigree analysis of testing cultivars (lines), and resistant reactions of 30 standard wheat varieties with known resistant genes. The preliminary results showed that there were 19 cultivars (lines) including Yinchun 8, Ding E301, Ningchun 39, Ding 9873, Dingjian 5, Xihan 1, Wuchun 2, Huining 18, Zhangchun 23, Jiu 9996, Yinchun 6, Longchun 24, Yongliang 15, Dingxi 43, Dingxi 39, Ningchun 32, Ningchun 18, Linmai 30 and Ning 9415 carried Yr1 and unknown resistant genes. Other cultivars (lines) were controlled by unknown resistant genes. Although most cultivars (lines) tested were highly susceptible at seedling stage, some of them showed adult resistance in the observation pool in Longnan region, Gansu province, China. The wheat variety Dingxi 43 carried adult resistance and another 8 wheat cultivars (lines) including Ding E301, Ding 9873, Dingjian 5, Longchun 26, Longchun 24, Dingxi 39, Linmai 30, Ning 9415 might be cultivars with slow rusting characteristics. The results of cluster analysis indicated as the same as gene postulation. |
